The Hold Steady ostensibly describes themselves (in the third person) as "a bunch of dudes who rock the hell out of Brooklyn, as well as the rest of the world, and take pride in the amount of time they've spent at the bar."

Fingers crossed that DC gets one as well, the new songs from Heaven is Whenever are so arena-rock full, I don't doubt they'll be incredible live.
Also, it seems that they've added another guitarist-type (Steve Silveridge) and keyboardist (Dan Neustadt) in place of keyboardist Franz Nicolay who left the band earlier this year. (Thanks to Mr. Pennypacker for the details!)
